Dragon Bridge

Dragon Bridge

The award-winning Dragon Bridge, an iconic architectural marvel in Đà Nẵng, was designed by Louis Berger and Ammann & Whitney following an international design competition. Construction began in July 2009, and the bridge was inaugurated on March 29, 2013, coinciding with the 38th anniversary of the fall of Đà Nẵng in 1975. Spanning a length of 666 meters and a width of 37.5 meters, the bridge consists of eight spans and features a series of tubular arches that artistically emulate the form of a Lý dynasty dragon.

At night, the bridge comes alive with vibrant LED lights that cycle through a dynamic color spectrum, casting dazzling reflections onto the surface of the Han River. Adding to its enchantment, the dragon’s head is equipped to "breathe" both fire and water, a spectacle that once delighted crowds every Saturday and Sunday evening at 9:00 p.m. The Dragon Bridge has since become a symbol of modern Đà Nẵng, representing the city’s progress and creativity while paying homage to its rich cultural heritage.
